Start of the FFG project RoboNav as part of a consortium with TU Graz, the Disaster Competence Network Austria, the Start-up ARTI - Autonomous Robot Technology GmbH and the Federal Ministry of Defense. The goal of the 24-month project is the development of routing algorithms for autonomous robots. A demonstrator is to be created in RoboNav, which should be able to navigate robots with additional charging and sensors to locations that cannot be reached by road.
With the concept "BusPilot - a dynamic guide for coaches" pentamap takes part in the IÖB-Challenge "Management system for an optimized occasional bus service". You can find information here .
Start of the FFG project UniNav as part of a consortium with TU Graz, the Disaster Competence Network Austria, UNITAR-UNOSAT, the Austrian Red Cross Styria and the Institute for Military Geosciences. UniNav has a term of 24 months. The project goal is the development of a navigation algorithm for emergency services of the Austrian Red Cross and the Austrian Armed Forces operating off-streets. The Factsheet gives a brief overview of the project.
Start of the FFG funded project AnimalProtect as part of a consortium with TU Graz, Boku, Birdlife Austria and
Naturhistorisches Museum Vienna with a runtime of 24 month.
The project goal is to detect risk areas of wildlife accidents derived from remote sensing data.
Based on wild-ecological requirements, different land cover groups summarised in impact corridors influencing
animal behaviour will be detected.
The outcomes of our project TouristDispatch were presented from Florian Schöggl at the AGIT symposium in Salzburg. The publication can be found here.
DynTrans aims to develop a concept for dynamic public transport systems based on existing transport networks and satellite positioning. Together with the developers of pgRouting an ESA-funded Kickstart-Activity in the field of "People Mobility" will be performed until end of 2018.
For a hotel association in Wagrain, Austria, a dispatching solution based on pgRouting coordinating the guest transport was implemented. The optimal vehicle fleet is calculated for up to 3000 passenger transports per day and is available to the hotels as a basis for their planning and negotiations with haulers. For the drivers, an app was developed that dynamically presents the upcoming driving assignments and documents the journeys in a logbook.
For the optimization of drilling platforms pentamap developed a GIS toolbox for XL-Operations . The GIS-software ensures a smooth and efficient planning process for large shale gas projects.
Start of the FFG funded project Jagd+. Jagd+ will provide features for securing driven hunts. Together with experts from "Österreichische Bundesforste" new features for our hunting app "Deermapper - The hunting diary" will be implemented. A summary of results can be found here.
For an UAV-based sensor platform of the company FESTMETER we investigated approaches for single tree detection from multi-spectral images.
There is an article entitled "Der schnellste Weg durchs Latschenlabyrinth" reporting about our FFG funded research project RemoteNav in today's print edition of Austrian newspaper "Der Standard".
Start of the FFG funded project RemoteNav. RemoteNav will provide a routing algorithm for remote areas based on remote sensing data.
The project runtime is 24 months.
The European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) is rewarding the best services, products, and business cases that use satellite navigation in everyday life.
Enviguard was awarded with the best Austrian submission.
Deermapper made in to the third place in Austrian competition.
Deermapper is member of Science Park Graz. The project was positive evaluated by the evaluation board and can use the services for 18 months.
Deermapper was in the final of the best 10 out of more than 120 submissions and won the award "Best submission of Graz university of Technology".
